The all heavyweight main-card expected for UFC 146 is now down one man, as former Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem, officially withdrew from the event on Friday, April 20, requesting a continuance instead with the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Overeem was scheduled to meet with the commission tomorrow in an appeal process for elevated levels of testosterone found in the fighter’s system after a random drug-test was administered following an event press-conference last month.

Bellator FC middleweight champion, Hector Lombard (31-2-1), could be on his way to the Ultimate Fighting Championship this summer with Bellator CEO, Bjorn Rebney, confirming Wednesday when talking with Sherdog.com that he has the UFC’s 60-page contract offer and will review it with promotion partners following Bellator 66 – Alvarez vs. Aoki to determine whether the company will match their competitors number. Bellator can exercise the right to match any offer made by a competitor at this juncture.

Bellator Season Five Bantamweight Tournament finalist, Alexis Vila (11-2-0), has been released by the promotion and is eying a drop to flyweight with the ultimate goal of competing inside the octagon.
