Legacy Fighting Championship 14, Preview

Friday, September 14, 2012, Legacy Fighting Championship will go live from the Arena Theater in Houston, Texas, for LFC 14: Pimenta vs. Rexroad, featuring a welterweight interim-title bout between Salvador, Brazil’s Lucas Pimenta (8-1-0), and local favorite, Jeff Rexroad (5-1-0).

In the co-main event, WEC veteran, Antonio Banuelos (20-8-0), will go toe-to-toe with Lindenwood, Missouri’s Joshua Sampo (7-2-0); while “Caged” standout, Matt Schnell (0-0-0), will launch his professional career when he battles fellow flyweight debutant, Ryan Hollis (0-0-0).

Main-Event

Twenty-four year old Fight Club Bahia representative, Lucas Pimenta, has posted eight consecutive wins with six of those coming by way of stoppage.  Fighting seven times since April of 2011, Pimenta has won under the Bellator FC banner and also captured the UWF: Tournament of Warriors championship, defeating Shamar Bailey, Mitch Whitesel, and John Malbrough most recently in June of this year.

Paradigm Training Center product, Jeff “The Executioner” Rexroad, is riding a four fight winning streak – all under the Legacy FC banner – heading into this weekend’s contest, but is yet to compete in 2012 with each of his LFC victories coming in 2011.  Rexroad most recently defeated Larry Crowe at LFC 9 via arm-bar submission in December of last year, and also owns a victory over John Malbrough, the only common opponent he and Pimenta share.
